New TV series to binge…”Scarpetta”!

The new crime thriller Scarpetta has officially premiered on Amazon Prime Video, and if you enjoy a good murder mystery with brains, attitude, and a little bit of “did they really just find that inside a body?” energy, this show might be your next binge.
The series is based on the massively popular Kay Scarpetta novels by Patricia Cornwell, a book series that has sold well over 100 million copies worldwide. The story follows brilliant forensic pathologist Dr. Kay Scarpetta as she solves brutal crimes using science, intelligence, and the kind of calm composure most of us definitely would not have while standing over a dead body.
Taking on the iconic role is Nicole Kidman, who brings the perfect mix of icy brilliance and quiet intensity. The show also features the legendary Jamie Lee Curtis as Scarpetta’s complicated sister, because what’s a crime drama without a little family dysfunction sprinkled in for flavor? The cast also includes Bobby Cannavale, Ariana DeBose, and Simon Baker.
What makes Scarpetta fun is that it’s not just another “body of the week” procedural. It’s darker, smarter, and layered with personal drama, secrets, and forensic science that will absolutely make you feel smarter just for watching it.
So far, the show has all the ingredients of a solid binge: big stars, creepy cases, and enough intrigue to keep you clicking “next episode” even though you absolutely told yourself you were only watching one.
