👩🍳 The Mom Verdict: Paradise
🍷 Pairing: Espresso (you’ll be theorizing all night)
🧺 Laundry Score: Low (too many twists to look away)
🤫 Kid Factor: Safe-ish (mostly just psychological tension)
📺 Binge-Ability: 5/5
⭐ Couch Rating: 5/5 Couches
If you haven’t yet stepped into the twisted, addictive world of Paradise, let me lovingly shove you in that direction—because WOW. This Hulu original, created by Dan Fogelman, starts as a gripping political thriller before unfolding into something far more layered, emotional, and downright mind-bending. But, it’s more than that….. Like a fine wine it brings notes of The Truman Show, Wayward Pines, and even some Under the Dome: that was Season 1… Season 2 has brought into play Silo (Apple TV) and Fallout (Prime) vibes imo.
This is my flavor of Kool-Aid.
For all you newbs out there let me introduce you and get you caught up … Season 1 introduces us to Secret Service agent Xavier Collins, played flawlessly by Sterling K. Brown (for those of you who watched This is Us, you’ll recognize him!), as he investigates a presidential murder in a world that is not quite what it seems. Alongside him, you’ve got powerhouse performances from Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, James Marsden (🤤), Krys Marshall, and more—every single one bringing depth and tension to an already stacked story.
But let’s talk about Season 2… because I am in absolute AWE. The storytelling? Elevated. Sharper. More emotional. More intense. With seven episodes already out (and more coming), this season somehow takes everything you loved about Season 1 and cranks it up tenfold. The writing is tighter, the pacing is more confident, and the character arcs are hitting on a completely different level. And yes—new additions like Shailene Woodley slide into this world seamlessly, adding even more intrigue to an already stellar cast.
I won’t spoil a single thing—but I will say this: I am fully obsessed. This show already had me hooked, but now? I’m locked in for life. Paradise isn’t just good—it’s awards-season good. The kind of show people will be talking about nonstop.
A side effect of such amazing TV? Well, I feel like a kid that opened all their Christmas presents way too soon and now I’m going to have to wait at the mercy of the producers, cast, and writers of the show for more goodies! I did not pace myself and binge-watched all 7 episodes in one sitting, so now I’ll be waiting for the new episode on March 30th with bated breath, lol…
Do yourself a favor: start watching immediately.
